Ratcliffe and other intelligence officials have been associated in briefing associates of Congress in latest months about election threats. One senior official at the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) assessed in August that Russia, China, and Iran had been actively interfering in U.S. elections.
Slotkin cited labeled information on election safety threats in sharply criticizing Ratcliffe and the intelligence neighborhood for “drawing false equivalency” concerning threats from the three international locations, accusing Ratcliffe of “seeking to bolster a upcoming case by President Trump, if he loses, that Chinese interference caused his reduction.”
“I am intimately common with your obligation to present unvarnished, simple fact-based investigation to senior policy officers,” Slotkin wrote. “Your actions seem intent at distracting from the key risk to our democratic procedure posed by Russia, and as a substitute amplifying statements about China’s impact endeavours.”
